First born son to William H. and Zella L. Turner, on 17 December 1971, in Wilmington Ohio where he graduated from Wilmington High School . In January 1990, he joined the United States Navy as a Cryptologic Technician Administrative. He attended basic training at Orlando Fl, technical training at Pensacola, Fl prior to arriving at his first duty assignment at Naval Security Group Activity Galeta Island Panama. Follow on assignments have consisted of NSGA Northwest ( Chesapeake , VA ), USS FIFE DD- 991 ( Yokosuka , Japan ), Commander United States Naval Forces Central Command ( Manama , Bahrain ) and Navy and Marine Corps Reserve Center ( Aurora , Colorado ). He ended his ten year naval career as a Petty Officer Second Class on January 6, 2000 and subsequently enlisted into the United States Air Forces Reserves (Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado), then transferred into the Colorado Air National Guard (Aurora, Colorado) on June 1, 2000.
Currently, he is serving with the 140 Wing and is dual qualified as a Human Resources Specialist (3S071) and Knowledge Operations Management (3A071). It was through the military that he was introduced into the Masonic Fraternity. Brother Turner was initiated, passed and raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason in James R. Jones Military Lodge # 172, Oklahoma Jurisdiction in Manama , Bahrain on June 1997. He served this Lodge in the capacity as Secretary and member of the Degree Team. He demitted into Daniel “Chappie” James Jr. Military Lodge, Colorado Jurisdiction on May 2007.
Other fraternal organizations of affiliation are Irvin E. Henry Consistory # 371(Southern Jurisdiction), African Lodge # 459 ( Boston , Mass), Turtle Association of Colorado (Southern Jurisdiction); Lone Star Chapter # 1 (OES), Nathaniel Spencer Chapter # 4 (R.A.M), William B.S. Harris Commandery # 3, and Denver-Fitzsimmons # 37 (National Sojourners).
Civic involvements include life membership in The Retired Enlisted Association Chapter # 3, American Legion Chapter 1992, Veterans of Foreign Wars (At-Large Member), Clyde Seiler # 21 (DAV); City Aurora Volunteer - Career Service Commission and Judicial Performance Commission; National Guard Association of Colorado, and Colorado Education Association.
Brother Turner is currently working towards the completion of his Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Science with a Minor in Management at Metropolitan State College of Denver. He has been a mentor and educator of several newly made Master Masons and is extremely proud that he has assisted these Brothers on their Masonic journey. Motto is “ Live it, Love it and Learn it”.
On January 17, 2003 he married Sister Cheryl R. Stewart and has four children Ashli Marie Turner, Dominic William Turner DeBernardis, Matthew Daniel Stewart and Ashley Nicole Stewart.
